Sometimes the best group rides happen in your garage
I’ve been on vacation for the last few weeks and this is the last week before heading back to work. I had made crazy plans to ride all sorts of bikes in all sorts of places during my time off but sadly, weather and an injury from an ill advised attempt at running threw a monkey wrench into those plans.
The great thing about being home all day is that I can jump on Zwift group rides that I usually cannot participate in. One of those rides happened today with retired pro rider Jens Voigt.
I’ve ridden with Jens in person at his Gran Fondo this year and a few times on Zwift as well and but I always enjoy riding with pros on line. I jumped on Zwift with a few minutes to spare and managed to have an epic group ride with Jensie and a bunch of others as we did Box Hill repeats.
I managed to be one of the few riders to stay with Jens for the 6 times up Box Hill … we bonded a bit too. 🙂
I spent 90 minutes in my cold garage alone on the bike, but it was certainly one of the more fun group rides I’ve had this month.
